| Dear
Bar Candidate,
Welcome to Shemer Bar Review, "Maryland's
Oldest New Bar Review." With a faculty possessing over 50 years
of combined experience teaching for the Maryland Bar Exam, we offer
an array of bar exam related services. Our flagship is Shemer Maryland
& Multistate Bar Review, a comprehensive course that delivers
exam-focused substantive law review and multistate and essay question
training in an interactive, skill building format. Based on over
20 years of experience as an adult educator and bar exam instructor,
I have designed an integrated course that offers everything necessary
for success on the multistate and Maryland essay exams. It is the
only course you need.
Additionally, we continue to offer Maryland's
most experienced and most successful essay specialty course, Shemer's
Essay Techniques. We also offer Individual Tutoring and our Test
Review services.
In 1981, I began helping Maryland bar exam candidates
with SMH Bar Review. For every exam since 1982, I have taught Shemer's
Essay Techniques, a course for the Maryland essay test. I have prepared
thousands of students for the exam over the years.
But recently things have changed. National multistate
courses and local essay specialty courses have become the norm.
Where once "first-time takers" took one bar review, now
they take two or three courses. Unfortunately, separate courses
are expensive, inconvenient and exhausting. You are robbed of study
time and arrive at the exam too exhausted to be at your best—just
when you need to be.
I established Shemer Maryland & Multistate
Bar Review to solve these problems by integrating all the ingredients
for success into one course, at one reasonable price. All live classes.
A top-notch faculty of Maryland professors and practicing Maryland
attorneys. First-class written materials. Classes that teach you
the law and how to apply it. The most extensive and intensive essay
preparation in the state, our B.E.S.T. Program. And for the Multistate
Bar Exam, we bring you The Princeton Review, a national leader in
standardized testing. The Princeton Review Multistate Bar Exam Course
is available for the first time in Maryland exclusively through
Shemer Bar Review—and it is terrific!
One essential ingredient remains to ensure your
success—personal attention—the hallmark of Shemer Maryland
& Multistate Bar Review. First, we strictly limit class size.
You will be 1 of 100 new students, not lost in a sea of 400 or 500.
Second, our interactive classes include a question and answer session,
so your questions get answered. Third, in addition to class, every
week you will meet with me or another faculty member for one hour
in a small group essay workshop for discussion and critiques of
your answers to real bar exam questions. Finally, an experienced
teacher who knows the Maryland bar exam will be assigned as your
Mentor for extra one-on-one help.
If you have any questions at all about the course,
please call and talk with me. I hope you will allow me to prepare
you to pass the Maryland bar exam.
Sincerely,
Daniel M. Shemer
President and Instructor
